CAST meeting tomorrow

The fledgling Charlton Athletic Supporters Trust meets tomorrow night in the Charlton Conservative Club (51 Charlton Church Lane, SE7 7AE).

It doesn’t matter if you believe the club are currently sailing in troubled waters financially or not, the Supporters Trust is about making sure the club that you support is around for your children and grandchildren to follow in your footsteps as you, I suspect, followed in your parents and grandparents as well.

I have already registered my support with CASTRUST and you can do the same by subscribing to their mailing list at subscribe@castrust.org. I can’t be in Charlton tomorrow but if you are able to please try to get along. The meeting starts at 7.30pm.

You may or may not have any interest in how the club is run, but I would think that everyone wants to support a progressive and successfully ran football club with it’s roots within the local community. This will and never has happened by good fortune alone and a Supporters Trust would give us a voice and represent our collective interests.

As interim chairman Barnie Razzell said: “Please don’t take The Trust for granted. I believe we are at critical juncture. This is a third attempt, and if a lot of people who support it sit back and only offer limited support thinking others will do it, then it’ll not succeed, and it needs to.”

Previous meeting’s minutes can be read here.
