Simplifying the stadium map!

VOTV have broken the news a day before the club’s PR machine lurches into action that the 2017/18 season tickets will be more expensive in some areas of the ground and that they plan on closing certain blocks in the east and west stands.

The days of the fans bringing the club back to The Valley and not being unable to get a seat, let alone one of your choice are now far back in the rear view mirror and the owner and his inept CEO really don’t give a flying. Moreso it also prevents fans buying in cheaper areas and moving game by game to more expensive seats. Perhaps less stewarding is required too, but it looks to me an effort to maximize income from a no doubt further falling season ticket base.

Meanwhile some existing holders have had phone calls from the club saying that the block closures simplifies the stadium map. Yep those north, east, south and west stands are tricky to manoever around so I’m glad the Belgian’s sorted that one out for us. Those PR chumps are stealing a living.

Where this leaves Target 20k is anyone’s guess. VOTV breaks down all the prices and changes here

I haven’t bought a season ticket since we were in the Premier League, but always contributed financially in other ways, although not since Duchatelet ramshackled the club. What is really so sad for me though is the upcoming realization that this will be the first season I will not have seen a game at The Valley since my Dad first took me at the beginning of the 1975/76 season.

  1. “We’re workin on it” LOL Oh yeah we can all see that, obviously working on shrinking the club and whose the we? You’ve got LOSS plans, no kidding I’d never have guessed!

Interestingly, Hitler’s (xenophobic and racist) name for fellow human beings the Jews was Vermin too. The very same hideous word that you find acceptable to use so often and freely in describing the anti RD and KM club supporters.

I suggest you troll off and take your stupid elks with yer, you hypocritical, illiterate and deranged fraud!

Keep it up CA,and with any luck they’ll soon be history and old Trolly boy will have to find a different hobby/bridge to live under.

This really does beggar belief. I have absolutely no Public Relations training, but my common sense tells me that a move like this…at a time like this…in a way like this…is a terrible, nah disastrous piece of Public Relations. It’s as if it’s all been one long lesson in how not to run a business. (That’s a PR business and a football club business).

I also imagine that it will cost a lot more in Stewarding to stop people going into certain areas that just allow the 10 or so that want to to sit there.

They can’t go soon enough. Any reassuring words that the buy out is still a reasonable possibility would help my mood a lot.

  5. Yeah, that rectangular stadium…a tricky place to navigate…so easy to get lost inside. Thank goodness for the new simplification. How did we manage before?

I’m fed up with the whingers who boycott games then complain when the club closes off some seating. It’s the sensible thing to do.If more people attended the football it wouldn’t happen,so, blame yourselves for not attending,

A lot of these aren’t boycotting mate. They’ve gone. Katrien introduced the restaurant theme, and then served garbage for season after season. Now the ground is emptying and you have the cheek to blame boycotters? Sorry. There’s a lot of people who don’t like to be taken for a ride and eventually stop paying. BLame the crass incompetents running the club into the ground, not the other fsns.

  7. This is also the first season I haven’t been to a game and if things don’t change drastically, I’m not sure I’ll be going back, anytime soon.
