Charlton Athletic 1 Walsall 1
Another draw, our 16th, and unfortunately we were unable to build on Tuesday’s last minute winner although Tony Watt himself had a better game, more involved it seemed and got a good goal.
The first half sounded pretty rough, which was disappointing and I question why Robinson changed formation, but he does like to tinker. We went in at the break a goal down, although possibly could have been worse but the effort wasn’t questioned in the 2nd half as we probed and pushed and ended with the spoils shared.
Duchatelet’s reign has been littered with player injury issues, many of which are shrouded in mystery. Bauer for example was sick at half time on Saturday and now must have full-on man flu! Today Konsa was the latest injury but by all accounts Ulvestad did a great job at centre back, although I am sure he would struggle against a more mobile striker.
Anyway a point towards safety and our goal difference should give us enough breathing space. Thank you Roly and Katrien, our ambitions look like they will be met. They’ll be dancing in the streets of SE7 come end of April.
