Sheffield Wednesday 3 Charlton Athletic 0

Oh how 0-3’s we have missed you. Our 7th of the season.

My apologies to Roly {…}. I take full responsibility for today’s result. It can be no one’s fault but the fans. In fact I wish old nut job would quickly issue a statement as I am waiting to go out. I would be interested to see if he has updated his maths from earlier in the week when we needed just 6 points more than our competitors. It’s so easy, no wonder you haven’t prepared for relegation.

Perhaps it would have been easier to appoint a proper football manager with experience of the English game huh?

In summary. Ridiculous team selection. Dull first half. Wednesday change their shape at half-time. Riga’s confused. We concede from a corner. We concede two more. Jacko comes on but cannot score 3 free-kicks. Ademola Lookman, apparently injured, comes on in the 82nd minute when we are already 0-3 down. We do not have a shot on goal, except for an expert finish from El-Hadji Ba. The end.

Addick Bloggers to be blamed at HillsboroughChris Powell’s Flat Cap.

Relegation watch: Could you ever imagine us scoring six goals or winning at Ipswich? Bristol City, Rotherham, MK Dons and Fulham do their very best to fight their way out of relegation. Then there’s us.

It’s the lack of fight that really gets you. That and the hope.

  2. Chuckling in my hotel bed in Dublin reading this. Glad I was at the rugby and did nothing more than hear the score. How depressing. Polish that Duchatelet.

That’s been the whole problem over the last 2 years – players and managers have been brought in who are just not up to championship football and who show no desire or effort to make up for what they lack in skill by showing any effort. They are paid good money – it’s not much to ask that they at least make an effort…
The Titanic turned faster than Ba and Sarr – no wonder we are leaking goals at the back with those 2 donkeys playing in the back line.

Last time Riga was lucky because he had a half decent squad left behind by Sir Chris – this time he’s got a lot of dross to deal with and the only sparks of half-decency coming in from loaned players. The kids have largely been burned out by the experience of the last 6 months and too much responsibility has been put onto their young shoulders.

Duchatelet is correct in one respect – there is an element at the club willingly guiding them into the 1st division …. only problem is it’s those in charge – Meire and Duchatelet himself. They are the only constants at an ever changing club – now they can’t even keep their head of PR because she was obviously not in the loop when Duchatelet decided to let rip last week suggesting that the supporters are willing the club to fail when to find the true culprit all he has to do is look in a mirror.
The problem is the same with all dictators – they seek comfort from sycophants and do not accept reality, even when it stares them in the face.
