So I have a ‘friend’ who booked a plane ticket to come back for the crucial Middlesbrough game on the 12th March. It could end with relegation just a formality for the Addicks. That ‘friend’ has to fly back on the Sunday so they could be at work the next day. That friend’ was also taking his son and would have been joined by family and friends.
Imagine how annoyed ‘my friend’ is that the game has been switched to the Sunday at just 2 weeks notice.
It doesn’t pay to be loyal or even in ‘my friend’s’ case stupid. But it does solve ‘my friend’s’ moral dilemma of not wanting to line Roland Duchatelet’s pocket with any of their money.
So when ‘my friend’ will be sat on the plane back to Bermuda on Sunday afternoon unaware of what is going on at The Valley, their £22 will at least be in their pocket and not that of the man who will not care a jot about ‘my friends’ annoyance of missing a critical game of the team they weirdly love.
Judging by the trains I, sorry ‘my friend’, won’t be only person keeping their money in their pocket.
