Charlton Athletic 1 Fulham 1

Looks as if the international break has signalled the end of our season. Rather pedestrian last night at The Valley by all accounts and now we’re left with a run of four games against fellow teams without anything to play for before Bournemouth’s party bus comes to SE7 on the final day of the season.

Fulham put up a little bit of a fight, and so they should, and it has been one of this season’s mysteries that they have struggled so badly with the playing squad they have including a World Cup quarter finalist, past and probable future England players (Cauley Woodrow) and a £11m striker. Mis-management only bettered by that at Wigan.

As an aside I read that Wigan have received £32m in parachute payments since they dropped into the Championship and are due another £16m over the next two years. Incredible, but hope for all of us that worry Palace will be light years ahead of us by the summer.

I listened to most of the game and it sounded as if we played some good football but lacked a cutting edge with only one shot on target registered again. With our front two labouring, Fulham certainly did more to win and after seeing JBG’s goal I find it hard not to argue that Bulot was not interfering with play.

A typical end of season game and it is diffuclt to see past four more of those unless Katrien reminds Guy and the players that they need to shift some more season tickets.

Elsewhere in the League: Just the one game last night as Blackpool drew 1-1 with Reading whilst home fans continued to show their disapproval against the Oystons.

I honestly think we would have had a playoff place if we had kept Kermorgant this season. Is it legal to have crowd-sourced his salary for the season given that the club wasn’t prepared to do it?

    • 100% SLC. Kermorgant and Vetokele together would be a dream. With Watt as well? One of the best forward lines in the division.

No Charlton fan is surprised the impact Yann has made this season at Bournemouth.

We can only hope that RD has learnt some lessons.
