Blackpool 0 Charlton Athletic 3
The games that we always seem to flop.
I didn’t think we’d beat Blackburn, but I didn’t think we would beat Blackpool either. Last night was really last chance for saloon for Blackpool and they started brightly, and then I had to go and meet some people and was only able to check in on the score at half and full time. I raised my glass to myself each time.
Great to hear of another convincing win and it sounded as if we were organized, committed and clinical and as an admirer of Simon Church’s professionalism, I was very pleased to see him not only start, but get on the score-sheet. I very much agree with Dave’s sentiment there.
It looked a sad place Bloomfield Road, and last night was their lowest crowd of the season and I expect it will get worse before it gets better.
11th place now for the Addicks, and it has been a great effort from the players and Guy Luzon to steer us from just 3 points above the relegation zone to the 17 we are now, not much more than a month later.
Addick Bloggers at Bloomfield Road: Doctor Kish.
Elsewhere in The Championship: It’s going to be a thrilling finale at the top of the table. Watford sit there now one goal better off than Middlesbrough, who had a great win at Derby in front of 31,000. Watford won at Wigan. Bournemouth drew at Cardiff, Brentford did well to win at Blackburn and Norwich and Huddersfield shared four goals, one from each side coming in injury time. Wolves thrashed Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 and Ipswich beat Bolton, their first win in five matches.
