Ultimate respect

My ultimate respect to the 200 or so Addicks that are travelling to Middlesbrough tomorrow. I hope they at least leave the ground at 5 o’clock knowing that the team put as much effort in as they did. Hopefully Johnnie Jackson is back in the line up to show some much needed leadership.

One player who won’t play is Roger Johnson, who like nearly all of our recent signings is a long way of match fitness. The Birmingham Mail said this about his arrival, but I hope Luzon can help him rediscover his form and desire, and it may well give Bikey and Ben Haim a kick up the backside, or may not.

Luzon uttered a few words to the press this week, and said that we are going to approach tomorrow’s game positively and that Igor is 100% fit. The rest will be decided in action and not words.

Luzon also said that he is looking to bring a striker in after George Tucudean left, who’s depature was hardly a shock. I have to say I can’t help but feel the club has become like a film noir, with subtitles.

The plot, already hard to follow, thickens.

CA, it’s hard to see us getting anything today, I’ll settle now for a point. Where Luzon would be if we are on the wrong end of another good hiding, who knows? We have a tough few games ahead, and a combination of unexciting new additions and a suspicion that Luzon “doesn’t know what he’s doing” doesn’t convince me there is a positive outcome on the horizon. Funny to think how positive everyone was back in September. I’d go further than you have and say that following the club at the moment is like watching a foreign film with no subtitles!

Martin …. I agree with what you and CA have said – but I’d go one step further….

Going to the Valley at the moment is like being in a blacked-out cinema with nothing being shown on the screen……. but you leave having known the outcome before you even entered. You hope for a better ending to the plot but it rarely changes…!

The Producer (Duchatelet) and the Director (Luzon) try to change the actors but it’s like Groundhog Day – the result stays the same.

Luzon may well have lots of shortcomngs (and maube some merits) bth of which have not yet had time enought to discover.
However, he is new to the club and does not know the players that well so I assume he has had to rely on th coaching staff to some extent to reach final selection decisions.
The fact that Harriot was seected at the last home game and a so called ‘Fit” Veteki was on the bench whilst Church was brought back says very little for the coaching staff and any advice they have gven Luzon
