Charlton Athletic 1 Birmingham City 1
Probably the only time this season I have been disappointed in a result yesterday. In all of the other 10 games, at the end of the match it was hard not be happy with the outcome. Yesterday after a start that packed a real punch and an early goal, it was a real shame not not go on and win the game. Whether this was a lack of quality, ambition, fitness or just by design I don’t know.
However not unlike every other team we have drawn against so far this season, the Blues deserved their point by all accounts.
It was great to see Igor score, finishing with aplomb, reminding us that he will get us goals when given the opportunity. He also works exceptionally hard for the team, but desperately needs support.
I was glad Morrison came in and did an able job, but for once it appeared as if Bob got his changes wrong as everyone I knew at the game said that Buyens should have been hooked and not the skipper.
Nonetheless little to complain about as we enter the second blank fortnight allowing for legs to rested, knocks to heel, systems to be worked on and hopefully for Katrien and Bob to convince Roly that we need a couple of extra bodies.
Around the League: A whole host of draws on Saturday with only Brentford, Bournemouth and Middlesbrough winning against Reading, Bolton and Fulham respectively. Bournemouth won despite having Yann Kermorgant sent off, which means he will be absent when the Addicks visit in two weeks. Blackpool won their first game of the season on Friday night beating Cardiff.
