Charlton Athletic 0 Middlesbrough 0
The game of two halves continued at The Valley on Saturday as Charlton came close to grabbing all 3 points after a strong finish against a good Middlesbrough team that have been in very good form.
I was happy that Big Bob went for it in the closing 20 minutes. I think The Valley fans deserved to see that as a draw wouldn’t have been a poor point, but if 3 points were available then I wanted to see us go for it, and they did.
The 1st half was cagey to the point of dull, but my son was buzzing afterwards as Cousins, Wilson and Moussa drove us forward for what have been an impressive win.
Still question marks from me over the tactical abilities of Big Bob and the options available to him, but turn the clock back and we had lost five games this time a year ago.
Around the League: Norwich recovered from going a goal behind to win 3-1 at Blackpool, Forest were held at the City Ground 0-0 by Brighton, Blackburn and Watford also ended in a draw whilst Derby won at Bolton. Darko Milanic lost his first game in charge of Leeds losing to Brentford, Kit Symons strengthened his case after Fulham won at Birmingham and a Chris Powell side beat Millwall. What the?
